Absolute Matt Emulsion

Existing paint finish

Remove all loose and flaking paintwork. Degrease with a suitable detergent solution, such as sugar soap, followed by clean water rinse. Rub down thoroughly with a medium grade sand paper to provide a key and a defect free smooth surface, “feathering in” areas where paint has been removed. Make good any repairs, sand and apply Little Greene Intelligent ASP to exposed surface as appropriate.

Existing plaster walls

Lightly wash any existing paint work to remove any dust or surface laitance. Apply a primer coat by thinning with a 5 to 25% (v/v) addition of clean water, depending upon the porosity of the substrate. Finish by applying at least two full coats, as required. For significant colour scheme change, undercoating with Little Greene Intelligent ASP is highly recommended. This product is suitable for painting previously painted lime or other natural plasters so long as walls do not suffer from damp issues and compatibility with existing coating has been assured.

Apply a primer coat by thinning the paint with a 5 to 25% (v/v) addition of clean water, depending upon the porosity of the substrate. For new, fully plastered walls, allow at least six months for the plaster to thoroughly dry before painting. This product is suitable for painting lime or other natural plasters so long as walls do not suffer from damp issues and the above plaster drying time guidelines have been followed. Intelligent Exterior Eggshell

Application Climate

Substrate and air temperature should be 10˚C or above for application and during cure, and a minimum of 3˚C above the dew point. Avoid painting in temperatures above 25˚C. Ensure that the moisture content of wood is below 15% before coating. Damp or rotting wood should never be painted, as this will result in failure by flaking, blistering, or cracking. All smooth planed timber should be thoroughly sanded and cleaned ensuring that the timber is dry and free of contamination and dust. Rough sawn timber should be cleaned free of dust and other debris or contamination. Proceed with two coats of Little Greene Intelligent Exterior Eggshell. For best results on new, uncoated wood that is resinous in nature or contains resinous knots, apply two coats of Aluminium Wood Primer to prevent staining and/or discolouration, prior to undercoating. Little Greene Intelligent Exterior Eggshell should not be applied over waxed, woodstained or varnished wood, without complete removal of coating and suitable cleaning and rubbing down to provide a mechanical key.

Intelligent Floor Paint

Concrete

Brush or vacuum clean surface to remove dust. If concrete has been power floated, the surface must be either vacuum blasted or treated with a proprietary acid etch solution, to produce a profile, prior to painting. Minor surface contamination, such as oil spots, maybe resolved through flame treatment. Thin the first coat with ~15% v/v clean water to allow penetration into the substrate then apply two full coats.

New wood

Apply one thinned coat of Intelligent ASP to allow penetration into substrate, followed by the recommended two full coats of Intelligent Floor Paint. Resinous hard woods require cleaning and treatment with Little Greene Aluminum Wood Primer (consult the relevant product data sheets for further details). Little Greene Intelligent ASP should follow Aluminum Wood Primer. Ensure moisture content of the timber is below 15% before commencing application. Surfaces must be clean, dry and grease free. Remove all loose and flaking paintwork. Loose render or mortar should be replaced. Cracks must be hacked out and filled with exterior grade filler. Surfaces which have become powdery should be brushed down and sealed with a proprietary masonry stabilising solution before painting. Areas contaminated with fungal or algal growth should be treated with a proprietary fungicidal wash or with a 25% solution of household bleach, followed by thorough cleaning to remove deposits. Cement based paint or limewash should be completely removed before using this product. This product is not recommended for painting lime or other natural renders.
